Meet shoppers who already chose your dealership

Shoppers tell CarCompass the car they want, their budget and how far they'll drive. We search the inventory near them, yours included. When they choose one of your cars, the lead is yours alone.

  • Free to join
  • No lead auctions
  • Never shared with other dealers

How it works

From the shopper's search to your showroom

Five steps, and you only step in once a shopper has chosen one of your cars.

  1. 1

    The shopper describes the car

Model or style, budget, payment, trade-in and how far they'll drive, in English or Spanish.

  2. 2

We search the inventory near them

Our engine scores the vehicles at nearby dealerships, yours included, and the shopper gets the best matches.

  3. 3

    Your lead starts here

    The shopper chooses your dealership

They pick one of your cars and say when they'd like to visit. The lead is yours alone, never auctioned.

  4. 4

    A 3-way chat

You, the shopper and our virtual assistant in one conversation, with the car and the request in view.

  5. 5

    The appointment

Propose times. When the shopper confirms one, their phone and e-mail appear in your portal.

Everything you need to answer fast and sell more

Included with your free account, for the people who answer leads, price cars and manage the inventory.

Leads with a response timer

Shoppers who chose you, unanswered first. A timer shows how long each one has waited: amber after 15 minutes, red after an hour.

3-way chat

You, the shopper and the CarCompass virtual assistant in one conversation, with the car and what they asked for.

Contact details after a confirmed appointment

Propose up to four times. When the shopper confirms one, their phone and e-mail appear in the lead.

Performance

Week by week: searches your cars were in, matches sent, leads, appointments, sales and your median first answer.

Price vs market

Each vehicle against the median of comparable listings in our index. Shoppers see the same comparison.

Demand in your area

What shoppers near you ask for (body styles, budgets, models) and which of your cars fit. Always anonymous.

Inventory health

Listings that lose shoppers: no photos, price, mileage or VIN, placeholder data, or not shown in 14 days.

Seats for your team

Invite colleagues by e-mail. Everyone gets their own login and a role: owner, manager or staff.

CSV, feed URL or API

Upload a CSV from your DMS, give us your feed URL (refreshed every few hours) or push changes in real time.

Verified dealer badge

Once a person on our team confirms your dealership, your listings carry the badge.

Not another lead marketplace

Chosen by the shopper, not sold to the highest bidder

How CarCompass differs from typical lead-auction sites.

  • Who picks the dealership

Typical lead-auction sites: The lead is sold, often to several dealers

CarCompass: The shopper chooses one of your cars

  • Shared with other dealers

    Typical lead-auction sites: Often

    CarCompass: Never

  • What you pay

Typical lead-auction sites: Per lead or a monthly fee

CarCompass: Free to join, no per-lead fees

  • What you receive

Typical lead-auction sites: A name and a phone number

CarCompass: The car, budget, area, payment, trade-in and timeline

  • When you get the phone

Typical lead-auction sites: Right away, often while other dealers call too

CarCompass: When the shopper confirms an appointment with you

  • The first conversation

Typical lead-auction sites: A cold call

CarCompass: A 3-way chat with the shopper and our assistant

Free to join: no setup fee, no subscription and no per-lead fees. If we ever offer paid extras, they'll be optional and clearly priced before you choose them.

Trust & privacy

Built on respect for shoppers and for you

Shoppers answer because they trust us with their search. These rules keep it that way.

  • Shopper data only after they choose you

You see a request only when the shopper picks one of your cars, and only what they wrote since choosing you.

  • Phone and e-mail after a confirmed appointment

Until then you talk in the conversation on CarCompass. Once shared, the details stay in the lead.

  • We never sell shopper data

Not to you, not to other dealers, not to anyone. Demand in your area is anonymous: small groups are never shown.

  • Your website, respected

We follow robots.txt and rate limits and never get around bot protection. A feed or the API is the direct way in.

  • E-mails that follow CAN-SPAM

Every e-mail we send to dealerships has an honest subject, our postal address and a one-click unsubscribe that we honor for good.

  • A person verifies every dealership

Before a dealership can publish inventory or answer leads, a person on our team reviews the claim. Listings then carry the verified badge.

Questions

What dealerships ask us

Contact our partner team
Is it really free?

Yes. Joining, getting verified, sharing your inventory and answering the shoppers who choose you is free: no setup fee, no subscription and no per-lead fees. If we ever offer paid extras, they'll be optional and clearly priced before you choose them.

How do shoppers reach my dealership?

A shopper describes the car they want. Our engine searches the inventory of the dealerships near them and we send them the best matches, your cars included when they fit. When they choose one of yours, the lead appears in your portal and we let you know by e-mail.

Do you sell or share leads?

No. A lead is a shopper who chose your dealership. It's never auctioned or sent to other dealers, and we never sell shopper data.

When do I get the shopper's phone and e-mail?

When the shopper confirms an appointment with you. Propose up to four times from the lead; once they accept one, their phone and e-mail appear there. Some shoppers prefer to call you themselves, and the lead tells you so.

Who is in the conversation?

The shopper, your team and the CarCompass virtual assistant. You see your own vehicles and what the shopper wrote since choosing you, so you never start cold. A person from our team can step in when needed.

Which price do shoppers see?

Your advertised price, exactly as you send it, with the date of your last update and a link to the vehicle page on your website. They also see how it compares with the market, the same comparison you see in Price vs market.

What do I need to share my inventory?

Any one of these: a CSV export from your DMS or a spreadsheet, the inventory feed URL your website provider generates (CSV or Google/Meta vehicle XML), or a developer using our partner API.

My cars already show up on CarCompass. Why join?

We read dealership websites when they allow it, but many block automated reading and we never get around that. Joining gives you a direct connection (CSV, feed or API), the verified badge and the portal where you answer the shoppers who choose you.

How does verification work?

You confirm your work e-mail at your dealership's domain and a person on our team reviews the claim, usually within one business day. Until then the portal is read-only.

Can I stop anytime?

Yes. Remove your feed or revoke your API keys and your inventory stops updating; ask us and we'll remove your vehicles from CarCompass.

Ready to meet shoppers who already chose you?

Create your account, claim your dealership and confirm your work e-mail. It takes about five minutes, and it's free.
